Getting Your Holiday Cold Weather Coffee Drink Recipes in Order
When the weather gets cold, nothing feels better than a nice hot beverage. The right hot drink can reinvigorate your body, and warm you from head to toe. And if you’re a coffee drinker, the holiday season and the colder weather it brings is the perfect time to enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee, just about any ol’ time of day.
While we all have our favorite coffee drinks year ‘round, there are some very special coffee beverages that just scream out “holidays.” These are coffee drinks we wait all year to indulge in – drinks that from the first sip, even the first hint of their sweet aroma, instantly call to mind memories of pumpkin picking, tree trimming, sitting by the fire and all of the other wondrous and amazing experiences the holiday season can bring.
Here are some of our favorite cold weather coffee drinks for the holiday season. You’ve probably tried them all by now, but if there’s one of these that has escaped your notice, make this the year you enjoy a great new coffee experience!
Pumpkin Spice Latte
For some, the fall season doesn’t truly begin until they’ve had their first pumpkin spice latte. This delightful beverage has a wonderful aroma, a sweet taste, and brings forth all the great holiday memories of Halloween Trick or Treating, family Thanksgivings, and watching the leaves turn colors as they fall from the trees.
Eggnog Shooter
Mix coffee, egg nog, a little nutmeg, and whipped cream, and you’ve got a drink that’ll keep your cockles warm and give you a little kick besides. It’s the perfect holiday party beverage for you and your coffee-loving friends. Naturally, this is one you’ll want to save for drinking until you’re not driving anywhere in the near future.
Hot Chocolate Marshmallow Coffee
When you were a kid, there was nothing like a cup of hot cocoa after coming in from the cold to warm you up. If you’re too grown up now for straight-up hot chocolate, then you may want to try this: one of the most decadent coffee beverages you’re ever likely to encounter. Simply mix hot chocolate with your favorite brew and top with marshmallow cream and cinnamon. Then drink, preferably in front of a roaring fire, and prepare to be transported to heaven.
Peppermint Mocha Latte
Maybe it’s just that peppermint makes us think of candy canes, but there’s something about peppermint that says Christmas is right around the corner. And there’s no better way to celebrate that joyous time than with a peppermint mocha latte.
With mocha sauce, whipped cream, and peppermint syrup, this coffee drink can really put you in the holiday spirit. For a more hardcore version, crush up some of those candy canes we just mentioned and drop them right in the cup.
Gingerbread Latte
If there’s anything that says the winter holidays are here more than peppermint, it’s probably gingerbread. Many people love the unique taste of gingerbread, and who can blame them? There’s a reason that witch in the old story made her house out of the good stuff.
If you can’t get enough of it, a gingerbread latte is the perfect holiday season coffee drink to complement your favorite gingerbread treats. You can ask your local coffee hangout to make one for you, or make your own with ground ginger, cinnamon, vanilla and molasses.
Drinking in the Holiday Season With Coffee and More
Remember that just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you have to have a hot beverage to enjoy the holiday season. Some people prefer cold brew all year ‘round, and that’s okay too. In fact, some people may tell you that a few of the drinks above taste better cold.
As long as you’re someplace warm, surrounded by friends and/or family and the holiday spirit, whatever your coffee drink of choice is can be the perfect cold weather coffee drink for the holiday season.
