Changes at the Bipartisan Cafe
Starting today, Monday, October 19th, there will be some changes here at the Bipartisan Cafe.
First, we will now be serving Bowery Bagels. Bowery Bagels was founded by a transplanted New Yorker whose goal is to replicate the high quality bagels he grew up enjoying. A genuine NY style bagel should have a light crunch on the crust, a chewy but not dense interior, and a malty richness, and you can expect all that goodness and more from the new bagels at the cafe.
To obtain these characteristics, each bagel the company makes is hand rolled. The dough is fermented to develop flavor and texture. After a long, slow proof, the bagels are boiled in small batches, then baked to perfection and delivered to cafes like Bipartisan within hours.
In addition to the new bagels, we will now be getting our Sandwich bread, Croissants (including chocolate and almond croissants), and our Danishes from Fleur De Lis. Fleur De Lis is a Northeast Portland French Bakery that specializes in artisan French breads and pastries. You will definitely notice and enjoy the difference in our brand new Croissants, and we can’t wait for you to try them out.
Here at the Bipartisan Cafe, it has always been our goal to offer the finest handmade pastries, made to order sandwiches, as well as our great Water Avenue Coffee drinks. In order to bring you these fine products, as well as to keep pace with the rising costs of our lease, labor, and food, we are going to be introducing a slight increase to our prices. This will begin today, Monday, October 19th.
As always, we appreciate your business and we remain committed to the Montavilla neighborhood!
